 Raksha Bandhan or 'Rakhi' is a festival celebrates brotherhood and love.On the day, the sister will tie a small thread, often decorated, around the brothers wrist. In return, the brother gives the sister a small gift. Raksha means 'Protection' and Bandhan means 'to tie'. |  The colourful symbol and pride of my country. The orange symbolises strength and courage, the white symbolises peace and truth, the green symbolises growth and auspiciousness. Salute to my proud colourful Bharat(India). |  Namaskaram is used as a respectful form of greetings, acknowledging and welcoming a relative, guest or stranger. Namaskaram is used by one person to express gratitude for assistance offered or given, and to thank the other person for his or her generous kindness. |
 My first beautiful table setup for my south Indian presentation. |  Our Hindu lord ganesh the son of lord shiva and goddess parvati. He was created by his mother using earth which she moulded into the shape of a boy as a reward for his great courage in fighting the demons. shiva made ganesha the leader of the bhutaganas, hence his name is Lord ganesha. |  We Hindus perform pooja everyday at home by lighting traditional oil lamp with an offering of flowers and homemade(prasadam) like kesar sweet which i make on Thursdays for shirdi sai ram pooja. |
 Beautiful art of our Hindu temple by my daughter telling about the significance of the three important Gods in the Hindu pantheon. Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu are the three divine aspects of supreme universal god called Trimurti. They symbolise the complete circle of samsara(Birth-Death-Rebirth) in Hinduism. Lord Vishnu is the protector he married to wealth Goddess Lakshmi .Shiva is destroyer he married to power goddess Parvati. Brahma is creator he married to knowledge goddess Saraswati. |  Cricket is an important part of the culture of India. Some cricket matches can last for days. Sachin Tendulkar has been bestowed with the title of God of Cricket for his enduring and master blaster performance in cricket. Proud to see my son Lakshman wants to play his best in all the matches. |  Papadums also called papad .In our south India papadum are typically served as an accompaniment for all traditional meal in banana leaf .specially at Indian weddings.i always make it to my family at home with sambar or tomato pappu .we all love it with hot hot rice. |
 world Famous Banarasi Silk Sarees are very heavy sarees worn only for special occasions. The have been worn In lots of Indian Bollywood movies Like Devas, Bajirao Mastani. It's one of my favourite sarees gifted by my loving amma,nanna for new year 2020. |  My son likes our South Indian thali especially in Kamat restaurant in Hyderabad. Thali meaning is plate, and is a round platter used to serve food in south India.Thali is also used to refer to Indian style meal made up of a selection of various dishes. |  Our Hindu celebration Deepavali festival is celebrated to mark the home coming of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after he killed Ravana. People were so happy that they lit thousands of lamps and made it the brightest night of the year. |

 Yoga became part of my daily life allows for loving service to god and unites Hindus in their pursuit of moksha and form of yoga consists of stretching,movement and meditation.however more broadly yoga includes variety of a spiritual and physical practices intended to encourage mental and bodily wellbeing. Om namah shivay is my Hindu powerful carming manthram in yoga. |  The Hindu Telugu festival known as Ugadi is celebrated with family at my home making ugadi pachadi is a mixture that has six different tastes sweet,sour,salt,tangy (mango),spice,bitter.it signifies that our life is a mixture of happiness,sadness, anger,disgust,fear and surprise.sweet taste comes from jaggery and it symbolizes happiness. |  Most Indian children will learn to cook from young age with perfection like my son making special Masala Dosa with potato kurra for my mothers day. felt so proud of my son. |
 our Telugu Hindu traditional marriage silk(pattu)saree .mostly wore by pellikuthuru(groom).i had to wear it too in my marriage in India. |  Lord Shiva is a powerful god in our Hindu religion. Shiva is the destroyer who ends the cycle of time in turn begins a new creation.the Damaru my son playing is known as a instrument of shiva. |  Beautiful looking Jasmine flowers in my hair .Jasmine meaning varies by place and culture.but it often symbolises love,beauty or sensuality.its pure white blossoms can also symbolise purity.Jasmines flowers bloom at night with such powerful scent. |
 South Indian meal is well balanced combination of a variety of lentils(dal,pappu),veg kurra we mostly accompany with our staple food plain rice or favoured cumin,mint pulao rice that i made at my home .lot of south Indians try to have our own rice comes from (Andhra pradesh) India known as sona masoori rice that we use everyday at my home.we only use(kohinoor) Basmati rice for our Hyderabad Biryani special. |  A luxurious spiced masala Indian chai to sooth your throat after a long day. Drinking it in original old city style at charminar in Hyderabad specially in monsoon season. |  Beautifully Drawn famous art of Kerala dance.  Shilparamam is an arts and traditional crafts village located in Hyderabad.it was beautiful day when we went with childern in summer last year. |  Hyderabad very own hussian sagar lake is surrounded by a number of tourist.head straight to tank bund at night time to capture a view of beautiful sunset. |  Jewellery is popular in India.lots of Indians like my daughter wearing traditional jewellery with silk(pattu)langa especiallyy for lots of happy occasions. |
 Among the largest wholesale flower markets in India is filled with colours and fragrances of different flowers with rows of vendors trading in all sorts of beautiful flowers of different shapes and sizes.the market opens by 4am in Hyderabad.we went with our children in summer . we are amazed with aroma . |  In our Hindu region Deepam,Kum Kum,Haldi are considered most valuable symbol for married ladies. |  Banana leaves used for decorative and symbolic purposes in numerous Hindu ceremonies.Banana leaves use by most to serve an authentic our south Indian spread on Festivals,Family traditional gatherings,Marriages. |
 Inside one of the most famous actors home, Shah Rukh Khan is said to be the 2nd richest actor in the world and his interior definitely shows it! He is referred to as the King Of Bollywood! |  The Ramoji film city in India is located in Hyderabad.it is the largest integrated film city in the world and such has been certified by the guinness world records as the largest studio complex in the world.lots of our Bollywood and Telugu films(Tollywood)will take place here. |  Bollywood Dancing is a very popular dance form which incorporates traditional dance with concept dance forms. It is often used in Movies |
 In our Hindu culture Pasupu(turmeric) and Kumkuma (red power)is considered a must for every woman to wear sindoor after marriage.it was carried out by a woman to express their for husband. Pasupu(turmeric is considered extremely auspicious for Hindu rituals.there's a role of turmeric in every ritual as it signifies purity. |  My daughter Traditional Lehanga choli is one of the most popular and widely worn by Indians for lots of happy occasions .its from famous south India shopping centre in Hyderabad. |  Every Year we celebrate Krishna Janmashtami which marks the birthday of deity Krishna. Krishna is often represented as a cheeky little boy who loves stealing butter and making mischief. Like most mothers, I always ask my sweet children to dress as radhi,krishna on the day Krishna on the day as part of the celebration. |
 Indian street food is famous for its amazing taste and cheap price because often, its fresh from a market stall or street vendor. Each state have their own street food specialty with Hyderabad's being Mirchi Baji! My daughters favourite is the specialty of Mumbai, Pau Baji. |  Our Indian ghee originated in Indian of clarified butter that originated in ancient India.ghee has a unique nutty taste that makes dishes more flavorful than butter does.my son love ghee with hot rice. |  There is almost no Indian dish that is complete without chilli. The fiery little flames of colour make a huge impact on the overall flavour of a curry! |
 A cultural, full blown wedding lasts for 3-4 days. The marriage guests come in huge amounts to bless the happy couple. Yep that also means lots and lots of yummy food!! |  This deep crimson spice is used to add colour and life to dishes such as Biryani and desserts such as Rasmalai and Kheer. However this spice is used very carefully and in small amount due to its expensiveness! Saffron used to be called the spice of the rich. |  The atmosphere whilst at a vegetable market first thing in the morning is difficult to describe. The shear scale of fruits and vegetables, the noisy atmosphere, the warm sun glazing the goods in sunlight. There is no experience like it. Like in many countries, many travellers love visiting food markets where they can see the crops of the country, India's however is on a whole different scale! The best vegetable markets in South India are in Hyderabad. |
 This juicy sweet is a hugely common sweet in indian sweet stores. They are usually made fresh by hand and dipped in the glistening sugar syrup just before being served, hot. |  Although it may sound odd, South India and North India actually have slightly different gods! This is because the north and south have various beliefs and so whilst the North Indians believe in certain variations of a god, The South Indians may believe in a different variation. The god I pray and believe in most is Shiridi Sai Baba. |  Whilst Hyderabad may be my home city and favourite, I have to admit Kerala is alot more beautiful. With stunning back waters lined with lime green palm trees, This little heaven is a very popular tourist destination. Many Boats are available to hire as accommodation with your own chef on board! Cant get more relaxing than that! |
 In India, cows are sacred animals which is why Hindus don't eat beef.
