Coconut Pachadi(Chutney)

(Kobbari Pachadi)

    Ingredients

  • Coconut pieces-80grams one or two boxes

  • Plum tomatoes-small 6 

  • Green chillies-3

  • Salt-1tsp

  • Mustard Seeds-1 and half tsp

  • Cumin seeds-1 and half tsp

  • Chana daal-1tsp

  • Red dry chillies-3

  • Soaked tamarind pulp-1tbsp

  • Fresh curry leaves-one stem

  • Olive Oil-3tbsp

  • Garlic-2 cloves

  • Warm Water-6 tablespoon

  • Fresh Coriander leaves -1 stem for garnish

  1. Wash and cut the coconut pieces into small keep it on side. heat a non- stick frying pan with medium flame.

  2. once the oil is heated add in cumin seeds ,curry leaves, mustard seeds, chana dal and let it sizzle a bit .

  3. Add in red chillies or green chillies, one Garlic ,coconut pieces, salt, tamarind pulp .mix well fry for 5 to 10 minutes with medium heat.

  4. Switch off the flame .

  5. Let the coconut mix cool down

  6. once the coconut mix cool down .add it in a blender mixer and blend all together into smooth paste if you want to add 3 to 4 tbsp of warm water to blend into smooth paste. remove it into a severing bowl side it on a side.

  7. Now we going to do Talimpu,(Tadka) to our coconut pachadi .heat a small frying pan with low flame .add in 1tsp of oil .once the oil is heated .add in few cumin seeds, one grated garlic clove, few mustard seeds, few curry leaves remember to tear them to release the aroma.one red chilli. fry nicely into golden colour. switch of the flame .

  8. Now add talimpu mixture into coconut pachadi(chutney)

  9. Now your  homemade coconut pachadi( chutney )is ready to you to enjoy 

  10. Garnish with few leaves of finely chopped coriander.

Method;

Enjoy with hot plain rice or with any South Indian break fast . we call it as (Tiffins) in India. my family have it with Dosa or Idli most of the time.
